Communicating with family and friends is easy with REACH. REACH speaks as you type or after you're finished typing. You can highlight text virtually anywhere on the screen and have it read back to you. What's more, you can use REACH's new Smart Speech add-on to use the ultimate in augmentative communication.	Using REACH's on-screen keyboards, you can use Twitter®, Facebook®, blog, email, or instant messaging! Using current social media tools is easier with REACH and can help you stay connected with friends and family!	REACH is adaptive technology. REACH adapts to how you use the mouse or pointer. REACH's Change Themes Keyboard

When you first install REACH, you will see a "Change Home" theme keyboard. A theme is a set of keyboards with a particular look and feel, and sometimes a particular functionality.

For example, if you need to use scanning in REACH, sets of keyboards already have been designed to make scanning easier. Or, if you need high contrast, there are sets of keyboards with high-contrast settings, auditory features turned on, and REACH's Zoom feature turned on. The 'Change Home' keyboard is something you probably won't use too often, but its the first keyboard you will encounter after installing REACH.

Example of a home keyboard After you've selected a theme, you then are taken to your home keyboard. The home keyboard is a lot like the home page in your web browser. From the home keyboard you can get to a whole host of productive keyboards. Here are a few examples:

Favorite Programs - a keyboard with keys that launch your favorite programs.
Favorite Typing - your favorite typing keyboard.
Windows Controls - a keyboard with standard Windows macros.
Select Keyboard - this key will allow you to choose from any of our 400+ keyboards.
Speech Keyboard - this launches the built-in REACH Augmentative Communication keyboards. Great for people who need help speaking to others.

REACH's Keys Are Very Powerful

REACH's keys can display a picture and text while also producing sound or speech when you aim at them or click on them. In addition to typing/speaking, you can give a key a specific action or many actions (which are called macros). The macros available in REACH are comprehensive. For example, you can open an application, then open a document in that application, and then move to the third paragraph in that application with one keystroke!

Macros make REACH key's quite powerful, but another thing you can do with a key is make it a "Get Keyboard" key. These keys will load another keyboard when you click on them, allowing you to create very powerful keyboard systems. The picture above is an example from REACH's built-in augmentative communication keyboard system (one of 120+ speech keyboards in that system).
